PHILADELPHIA -- Democratic Rep. Mark Critz has been elected to his first full-term to represent Pennsylvania's 12th District in Congress.

Critz was challenged by businessman Tim Burns, whom he beat in a special election in May to finish out the term of the late Democratic Rep. John Murtha. Murtha died in February.

Critz was a longtime aide to Murtha who has said he opposed the version of the Obama-backed health care bill passed by Congress. He has called himself "pro-life" and "pro-gun."

Burns wooed Tea Party support and was also critical of the Obama-backed health care overhaul.
