House Majority Whip James Clyburn, D-S.C., stops by the Capitol to brief the press at 11:00 a.m. ET on Democrats’ efforts to enact consumer protections and boost the economy.  Unfortunately for Dems, a new Associated Press-GfK poll shows that political independents now trust Republicans more than Democrats on economic matters.

Out on the trail, former President Bill Clinton campaigns for Florida Senate Candidate Kendrick Meek.  Meek, a member of the Sunshine State’s House delegation, trails Republican Marco Rubio and independent Charlie Crist in a three-way battle.
