Carson touts fundraising in response to media 'bias'

Ben Carson touted an impressive fundraising haul Saturday in response to a spate of media stories calling his personal story into question.

"First it was CNN who after exhaustively interviewing 9 people who live in Detroit decided to call me a liar," Carson wrote on his Facebook page Saturday afternoon. "Then it was Politico's turn to say I lied, though it was later retracted."

Carson was referring to a CNN investigation of claims that he had attempted to stab a friend as a young boy, an anecdote the Republican presidential candidate has repeated often in his books and public speeches.

He was also referring to a Politico story that revealed inconsistencies in his description of a meeting with a prominent general that led to a scholarship offer to West Point.
