A California county supervisor and local city council candidate reportedly is under investigation over searches on his computer that allegedly led to child pornography and other websites.

According to local Fox 40 affiliate, though, Terry Lamphier has not yet been charged with a crime or arrested.

A majority of the online activity deemed “unacceptable” took place the week of Oct. 13. Lamphier is a supervisor in Nevada County, Calif., and is running for Grass Valley City Council.

“These children were underage, looked between 6 and 10 and they were nude pictures,” Nevada County Sheriff Keith Royal said.

Based on the information from county Internet logs, investigators obtained a search warrant for Lamphier’s home.

The investigation is ongoing. In the meantime, Lamphier was absent from a board of supervisors meeting earlier this week.
