The architect of Arizona's SB1070 illegal immigration law and other bills aimed at undocumented immigrants is the one being targeted in a recent investigation into improper benefits he received.

Arizona State Senate President Russell Pearce is regarded as one of the most powerful men in the state but now he's a central figure in an investigative report, having received free tickets and trips courtesy of the Fiesta Bowl.

If you're waiting for an apology from Russell Pearce over taking game tickets and trips from the Fiesta Bowl, however -- forget it.

Pearce accepted thousands of dollars in trips and game tickets for him and his wife. Nearly all of it went unreported.

Lawmakers are required to report any gifts over $500. Not disclosing gifts is a misdemeanor punishable by up to 6 months in jail and a $2,500 fine.

FOX 10's John Hook sat down with the controversial senator -- and his responses will surprise you. He is adamant he did nothing wrong.
