In this capacity, Tomlinson covers breaking news emanating out of Washington, the Pentagon and around the world. Throughout his tenure with the network, he has covered numerous international conflicts, including the Israel-Hamas war, live from Tel Aviv and continues to report on the Russia-Ukraine war where he initially reported live on the ground in Ukraine when the invasion began. In August of 2021, he contributed to the network’s coverage surrounding the withdrawal of American troops from Afghanistan.
A 2001 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, Tomlinson served aboard USS McInerney and later on a human terrain team with the U.S. Army’s 3rd Brigade Combat Team 10th Mountain Division in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan.
