O’Brien served as National Security Advisor to President Trump in the last two years of his first term and as the Special Presidential Envoy on Hostage Affairs before that from the State Department. Ambassador O’Brien is the Chairman of American Global Strategies and serves on President Trump’s Intelligence Advisory Board.
