OPINION April 23, 2022 Second Chance Month initiatives can make us more safe, not less Congress recognizes April as Second Chance Month to raise awareness of the consequences that come with a criminal record: barriers to employment, housing, and education that increase the chances of reoffending and prevent people from achieving their full potential.
