Obama's New Rules of the Road -- What Would You Do?

Under the president's plan automakers would need to produce cars that get at least 35 miles per gallon by 2016 -- a big jump from the 2009 model year requirement of 25 mpg. The president claims the proposal will simultaneously help end U.S. dependence on foreign oil, lead automakers to develop more advanced products and save consumers money in the long-term.
