So Playboy is no longer going to publish photos of fully nude women.

Next, Nabisco will announce that Oreos will no longer contain a creme center, and the apocalypse may commence…

Seriously though, this is a truly ponderous decision on the part of Hugh Hefner, and one which certainly points to a shift America will soon regret.

You see while Playboy ushered in the sexual revolution in America, the lunatic smut peddlers in the porn industry unleashed a runaway train of gross stuff which, for many regular American fellas is JUST TOO MUCH!

A Playboy magazine was a last refuge where a man could be a man, read some great political pieces, get some good fitness advice, hear the straight scoop in incisive interviews, and yes, indulge and behold the overwhelming perfection that is woman.

Playboy was the not-so-porn porn. It wasn’t even “dirty.” For men of any age, it was something wonderful; something for us. Your work-a-day guy simply adores women, and when given the opportunity, genuinely marvels at their naked beauty. Many men can even attest to their wives not just tolerating, but embracing a few copies in the night stand from time to time.

The real shame here is that Playboy is abandoning men just when we need them most. On any given day in any given corner of the media, men are being marginalized on a grand scale. In sitcoms we’re the stupid bumbling father, in commercials we’re the one who don’t know how to order a pizza. In magazines and blogs we are being feminized and slandered.

Men were certainly men well before Playboy. Hugh Hefner only ushered in an era of enhanced masculinity. Now, as that masculinity is under attack, we’re doomed to become a watered-down gender. A bunch of boobs.
