The Bill Cosby revelations are sad, scary and not surprising if you've been paying attention to the more than two dozen women who've come forward over the last few decades -- many of them just in the last year. But it's also a story of power and influence, and how money and fame allegedly kept many of these women from feeling strong enough to bring their stories forward earlier --- or ever.

Bill Cosby was seen as a family man who gave parenting advice in books and on TV - but the real story seems to be something so much more nefarious.

I too had a meeting with Bill Cosby more than 25 years ago when I was Miss America. I had the opportunity to watch a taping of "The Cosby Show" and then spend time with him back stage eating sushi. No. Nothing happened to me. But I've thought of that meeting countless times reporting on all the other women who've shared different experiences.

The unsealed documents showing Cosby admitting he gave drugs to at least one woman before sex -- certainly add weight to the other womens' claims ... but what will really come of it all? Like sexual harassment or sexual abuse ... many times in our society -- the answer is nothing. And that's why this story is so sad.
