Lindsay Clancy's defense attorney delivered his closing argument Thursday, displaying family photos as he urged jurors to find she was not in her right mind when she killed her three children.
"This is a prosecution that has ripped the soul out of this girl," Kevin Reddington told the jury, pointing to images of Clancy with her family. He blamed "the damn medicine and the lousy medical care that she got."

Judge William Sullivan signaled jurors could also consider a lesser manslaughter charge alongside the three counts of first-degree murder in the strangulation deaths of her children Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months.
Criminal defense attorney Donna Rotunno told Fox News Digital the option changes the math for jurors weighing an insanity finding.
"I definitely think it gives the jury something else to consider. For those thinking first-degree murder is too harsh, but maybe thinking she deserves some punishment above an institution… This gives them an out," Rotunno said."Bottom line is case is not black-and-white."
Clancy has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity. Closing arguments and deliberations are expected Thursday.

Smith, a South Carolina mother, was convicted of killing her two young sons — 3-year-old Michael and 14-month-old Alexander — after she strapped them into her car and allowed it to roll into a lake. Prosecutors contended she killed the boys at least in part because the man she was romantically involved with did not want a relationship with a woman who had children. She received a life prison sentence.
