A Mexican scuba diver became best buds with a giant great white shark during a dive off Guadalupe Island.
Shark expert Mauricio Hoyos Padilla emerged from his protective cage in the Pacific Ocean, about 150 miles from the Mexico’s Baja peninsula, as a massive, 20-plus-foot-long great white swam by him.
The monster of the seas, a female great white Hoyos Padilla nicknamed Deep Blue, gives his cage quick chomp before he daringly pushes the beast away, in the process giving the shark a quick high-five.
"I give you the biggest white shark ever seen in front of the cages in Guadalupe Island....DEEP BLUE!!!" Padilla wrote on his Facebook page, where he also posted a video of him buddying up to the great white.

This is not the first time that this particular shark has been in the news. Deep Blue wasfeatured last August on a Discovery Channel feature for "Shark Week," but Hoyos Padilla said this is the first time he had seen her near Guadalupe.
When Hoyos Padilla and his crew came across the super-sized shark, she was pregnant and had scars over her body – possibly from either a rumble with another shark or from mating. Either way, the other shark is probably a lot worse for wear.
Deep Blue’s visit to the waters near Guadalupe probably has to do with its large elephant seal population, which could easily account for the shark's enormous size.
