A University of Illinois history professor who has written two books on Latinos in baseball is about to see his work on television.

Adrian Burgos Jr. is the subject of the documentary "Playing America's Game." It will air on BTN on May 21.

Burgos told The (Champaign) News-Gazette that seeing his work translated to documentary-film form "is very cool."

The film includes interviews with Burgos, White Sox infielder Jose Abreu and Hall of Fame member Dave Winfield.

The project took eight months to finish.
