Then again, who among us hasn't fallen asleep in a neighbor's dog bed after a night of partying?
Wait, scratch that.
A homeowner in Waukesha, Wis., woke up on New Year’s Day to find a neighbor passed out alongside Benton ─ her 150-pound mastiff ─ after drunkenly wandering into the house in the middle of the night.

"I woke up and saw someone over here on this dog bed,” Lynn Sarver told Fox 6 of finding the man at 5:15 a.m. on New Year’s Day, after he stumbled through what police believe was possibly an unlocked side door and hunkered down on Benton’s bed.
“We ran into the kitchen — grabbed a knife. Then we were scared,” Sarver added.

The mysterious man had no ill intentions, according to a police report, and had merely mistaken Sarver’s home for his own while “heavily intoxicated,” Fox 6 reported.
He also said he lived just a few doors down the road, and was cooperative with Sarver and police while the incident was sorted out. Sarver hasn’t filed a complaint against the man.
Oddly enough, Sarver later confirmed to Fox 6 that Benton was a Boerboel, or South African mastiff, which is described by the American Kennel Club as “intimidating but discerning guardians of the home.”

“He’s a big fierce Boerboel,” Sarver joked to WISN, “yet [he] let an intruder in the house last night. A person that needed a place to sleep!”
