A cruise ship that sailed out of South Carolina has reported more passengers with a stomach bug.

The Post and Courier of Charleston reported that the Celebrity Mercury has had 55 of it's nearly 1,900 passengers fall ill since it left Charleston on Feb. 27.

Cruise line spokeswoman Cynthia Martinez did not immediately respond to an e-mail message early Friday seeking more information.

More than 400 passengers and crew members became ill during a cruise that ended in Charleston on Feb. 26.

The ship's departure on the current cruise was delayed by a day to allow a crew to sanitize the ship.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said tests showed last month's outbreak was caused by norovirus. Symptoms include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and stomach cramps.
