A Canadian blogger who wrote about his battle with colon cancer left one final message, which drew three million visitors to his site after he died last week.

Derek Miller, 41, who was from Burnaby, British Columbia, died from complications of stage four colon cancer. “The Last Post” was featured on his website www.penmachine.com one day after his death.

From the time Miller was diagnosed with cancer in 2007, he blogged about things like getting his voice back, to sipping cherry soda at 3 a.m. to the realization that death was upon him.

When Miller’s post-mortem post went viral May 4, the site crashed and drew 143 comments.
Miller is survived by his wife, Airdrie, and his two daughters.
