Food is a great way to bridge divides, at least that's what Scott Walker hopes.
The Wisconsin governor is laying out a spread of beer, brats and other speciality food items from the Badger State for his so-called "beer and brat summit" on Tuesday.
One week after the Republican governor fought off a Democratic-led attempt to recall him from office, Walker is trying to mend fences by inviting state lawmakers from both parties over for a big barbecue.
“Food is always a good starting place, and beer is always a good starting place,” Republican consultant Brandon Scholz told the Associated Press. Scholz now heads the Wisconsin Grocers Association, which is handling food for the event.
