Summer is almost here and that means stocking up with ice cream.

But when the warmer weather hits, and you're craving a treat to cool off, you don’t want to have to wait ages for the ice cream to be soft enough to scoop.

It turns out there’s a very simple way to solve this icy problem.

Before putting your tub away in the freezer, pop it into an airtight freezer bag.

Squeeze most of the air out-- but not all of it-- and then just seal the bag.

The air around the tub will stop the ice cream from getting too hard and it should be instantly scoopable as soon as your take it out of the freezer.

Another tried and tested tip is to plunge the scoop or spoon into hot water before taking each spoonful.

So just scoop it out and enjoy!
