Carla Hall, host of the “The Chew” and former “Top Chef” finalist, and has launched a Kickstarter campaign to open her own fried chicken restaurant in New York.

Hall is hoping to raise $250,000 for Carla Hall's Southern Kitchen, a fast-casual restaurant specializing in Nashville-style hot chicken she grew up eating in her Tennessee hometown.

The New York restaurant is expected to open in spring 2015, followed by a D.C. location.  The TV host is hoping the money from the campaign, which runs through October 29, will help build out a restaurant.

Hall, who is a D.C. resident but currently living in New York while filming her ABC show, said the New York location was because her partners are based in the Big Apple.

She says she wants her new eatery to be welcoming and to have the taste and feel of Southern cooking.

In addition to the hot chicken, there will be a roast version and loads of side dishes, including mac and cheese, slaw, cornbread, creamed kale and black-eyed peas.

Donors who give $2,000 to her Kickstarter campaign will get a dinner cooked by Hall.  Or for $25 you can get your name on the restaurant’s “founders wall.”

So far she's earned over $6000.
