Butterball has been fielding phone calls from harried Thanksgiving cooks for three decades through their famous holiday help line.

But now it’s 2016 and the turkey purveyor has moved into the modern age. This year, Butterball is offering its first ever text help line for any turkey-related questions and last minute kitchen emergency fixes.

The company's regular phone help line opens Tuesday and Butterball will start to take text message questions on Nov. 17 and continue through Thanksgiving Day.

Cooks can text questions to 844-877-3456 at any time of day, since experts - not bots - will be on call 24 hours. People can also still reach out to the company's experts through e-mail or social media. Butterball fans have already started Tweeting @Butterball for some pre holiday help.

While the way people ask questions has changed over the years, Butterball says the most-asked question has remained the same: How long does it take to thaw the turkey?
