British composer Andrew Lloyd Webber, best known for the smash-hit musicals "Cats" and "The Phantom of the Opera," was set to sell part of his extensive wine collection for an estimated $4.1 million at a Hong Kong auction next month.

Sotheby's auction house in Hong Kong said the "magnificent" collection of 748 lots, to be sold on Jan. 22, would be highly sought after in the rising Asian luxury goods market where the number of wine collectors continues to grow.
"The Andrew Lloyd Webber Wine Collection" includes 10 cases of Chateau Lafite 2005, each estimated at a value of $15,000, and two magnums of Romanee Conti 1990 worth an estimated $30,000 each.

Lloyd Webber said, "I'm very happy that Sotheby's is bringing part of my precious wine collection to Hong Kong, particularly given that many wine connoisseurs are now in Asia."

Part of the collection was stored at Lloyd Webber's sixteenth century home in Berkshire, southern England, while the younger wines had come from professional storage, Sotheby's said.
