Tribute Concert, Album Release In The Works For One-Year Anniversary Of Jenni Rivera's Death

Mexican-American singer Jenni Rivera may be gone, but she's far from forgotten.

Plans are underway for a new album and tribute concert dedicated to her for the one-year anniversary of her death.

Billboard reported that Universal Music Latin Entertainment/Fonovisa will release a CD/DVD that will feature the late entertainer and a live show in her native Mexico, produced by the Rivera family, featuring celebrity performances.

“Four our family, it’s a pleasure sharing this treasure with fans of our mother, daughter and sister,” her sister Rosie Rivera said in a statement.

“This effort has brought us tears and made us proud and now it gives us happiness to continue with the company that worked with Jenni in other large projects. In honor and tradition to what Jenni Rivera is, we remain loyal to those whom have been loyal to her,” Rosie Rivera said.

According to Billboard, the new album is scheduled to go on sale Dec. 3, and will feature music from Rivera’s last concert at Arena Monterrey – just hours before the singer boarded a small plane that crashed minutes after take-off on Dec. 9, 2012.

On the day of her anniversary her death, fans in Mexico will attend a show that will celebrate Rivera. The tribute will feature celebrities such as Tito el Bambino and Marisela.

The Rivera family is scheduled to be in attendance, including her daughter Chiquis, who will sing music that made her mother famous.
