Sad news for "Dancing With the Stars" host Tom Bergeron.

The 60-year-old television personality is missing Monday's show to be at his sick father's bedside. He revealed the news on Twitter alongside a black and white childhood photo of the two.

"I'll miss 2morrow's #dwts to be at my Dad's bedside," he wrote. "He's given me a lifetime of support. Time to return the favor."

Season 19 "DWTS" champ Alfonso Ribeiro will be taking over hosting duties with Erin Andrews on Monday night.

"I will be filling in for @tombergeron tomorrow night on @dancingabc," the former "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" star tweeted. "I will be there with a heavy heart for my friend Tom and the Bergeron family."

Despite the bad news about Bergeron's father's health, the popular host took time out to thank his fans for their well-wishes on Sunday.

"I'm on a plane reading all of your lovely tweets which I'll share with my Dad," he wrote. "They are deeply appreciated. Thank you."

This isn't the first time 44-year-old Ribeiro has filled in for Bergeron. In May, he replaced him as the host of "America's Funniest Home Videos."

ET caught up with Ribeiro last week, when he commented on the decision to kick former "Real Housewives of Atlanta" star Kim Zolciak off "DWTS" for failing to make it back to the competition in time, after suffering a "mini stroke."

"I think they handled it right because it could have been Kim going home tonight," he said. "And would it have been fair for her not to dance, and still come back next week, and have someone else go home? That wouldn't have been fair."
