The Calling’s lead singer Alex Band was reportedly abducted and beaten this weekend while in Michigan.

According to TMZ, 32-year-old Band was taking a walk around 4 a.m. Sunday when a group in a van grabbed the singer and severely beat him before dropping him off on nearby train tracks.

The website reported that his fellow band members found him after they went searching for their star once he’d been gone for a while. He reportedly survived the attack and was treated and then released from an area hospital.

The Calling first hit the music scene in 2001 and recently reunited. On Aug. 16, Band tweeted that he was excited for the band's first reunion performance in Atlantic City, NJ.

“Thankful to be back on stage doing what I love! First show back as #TheCalling tonight at @BallysAC! Doors at 8 show at 10! #AtlanticCity.”
