Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston prove they're a couple with matching outfits

Taylor Swift and her apparent new beau Tom Hiddleston seem to be getting more serious, so much so that they are starting to dress alike.

The pair, who have been snapped flaunting their budding romance all over Italy, stepped out in color coordinated nude, nearly monochromatic ensembles. TSwift owned skinny white, crop jeans, a light yellow top and killer gray, strappy heels. Hiddleston was the perfect accessory on her arm in gray jeans and a button down, white top.

Jene Luciani, author of the new style guide “Get It," says it makes sense that Swift is willing to try a his/hers look during her European vacation.

“Taylor is a fashionista, so it’s no surprise she would try to push the envelope,” Luciani told FOX411.

The twinning comes on the heels of the world’s whiplash at finding out the new couple supposedly took the bold step of meeting both sets of parents --on two continents, no less.

Even though 26-year-old Swift only publicly announced her split from Calvin Harris weeks ago, judging by her fashion choices, the pop star certainly seems happy with her 35-year-old “Crimson Peaks” star.

And Swift and Hiddleston aren’t the only coordinated celebrity couple.

John Legend and wife Chrissy Tiegen looked perfectly in sync this week when they stepped out in stylish all-black ensembles to attend Khloe Kardashian’s birthday bash.

Reese Witherspoon has also gotten all matchy-match with husband Jim Toth.

Luciani said matching couples’ outfits aren’t necessarily trendy.

“To me, it comes off as trite and juvenile. The appropriate thing here would be, [for example,] a nod to the other such as a tie in the same color scheme as the evening gown.”

However, one duo that dons the trend to perfection is Prince William and Kate Middleton. They are known to coordinate their outfits, and often.

“People expect it from the Royals,” Luciani said. “They rely heavily on tradition, but as you’ll see, they’ll always have a nod to each other without head-to-toe matching.”

Whether it’s adorable or cheesy, one thing is certain: dressing alike is a couple-y thing to do. TSwift and Tom Hiddleston are a couple, and they want the world to know it.
