When news broke that "Sister Wives" star Kody Brown and his first wife Meri legally divorced last fall, the reality stars released a statement saying it was a decision they made together as a family.

But in a new promo for the TLC show's season 6 finale, Meri revealed she was the one who decided to go through with the divorce.

"In the season finale, additional details emerge that add clarity to Meri’s decision to divorce Kody," TLC told Us Weekly in a statement, "and the family’s decision to take the additional step of Robyn marrying Kody."

Brown, who is also married, though not legally, to Christine and Janelle, legally married his youngest wife, Robyn, several months following his divorce.

According to TMZ, the decision was made so Kody could become a legal guardian of Robyn's three children from a previous relationship.

However, Robyn's marriage woes played out on the TLC show. She admitted on camera her doubts in being part of a "plural marriage."

"I'm happy on the good days and when Kody shows love and affection, but on a bad day, I question my importance to the family and if Kody still [cares] about me," Robyn admitted on "Sister Wives."

Brown has one child with Meri, six children with Janelle, six more with Christine and one child with Robyn, plus her three from a previous marriage.

The "Sister Wives" season finale airs Sunday, Mar. 1 on TLC.
