The 46-year-old former Staind frontman grew visibly irritated when the crowd at his Pharr, Texas, show wouldn't stop talking.
Video footage obtained by TMZ shows a smoking Lewis scolding the fans who'd paid to see him, telling them, "I'm only going to wait for so long and then I'm just going to say goodnight."
"I don't understand what you're not getting," he lectured the audience, who were alternately yelling out and yelling at one another to be quiet. "I know I have a microphone so you can hear me. You're not going to hear the song unless it gets quiet. Do you get it?"
A fan then asked Lewis to sing something in Spanish, to which he replied, "I'm sorry, I don't know how to speak Spanish. I'm an American."

The crowd keeps yelling, and after about a total of two minutes, Lewis calmly rises off of his stool, places his guitar down and tells them, "Thank you very much. Have a great night."
A rep for Lewis did not immediately return Fox News' request for comment.
