Shakira is stepping into the world of Disney with her newest project, and it was all because of her two sons.

The Colombian singer will appear in the next Disney animated feature “Zootopia” playing a pop singer named Gazelle – who just happens to be a gazelle.

“She’s fun, and she’s charismatic but also very aware,” the 38-year-old mother of two shared to ET Online. “She’s socially aware. She feels responsible for her people, and she stands up for them.”

Shakira wanted to be in the film, out in theaters March 4, because she wanted to be able to brag to her sons that she is part of the world of Disney, although the Colombian singer admitted that her love for Disney films started well before she and her partner, the Barcelona soccer star Piqué, had kids.

"More than once I've found myself by myself on a couch watching Disney movies with a big jar of popcorn," she said. "But I also think it's very cool now to brag to my son about my connection to Mickey Mouse."

Along with sharing her voice for Gazelle, Shakira is lending her singing for the soundtracks original song, “Try Everything.”

"[It's] a song about being unafraid of your dreams and the size of your own dreams," she told ET Online, "and being able to fight for them and follow them."

She added: “I feel very happy to be part of this project.”
