Sara Sampaio 'Couldn't Believe It' When She Got Her Angel Wings
Portuguese supermodel Sara Sampaio tells FNM about the moment she found out she was one of Victoria's Secret's newest Angels.
After earning Sports Illustrated's "Rookie of the Year" honor in 2014, Portuguese supermodel Sara Sampaio probably didn't think her career could possibly get any better — at least until Victoria's Secret named her one of their newest Angels in 2015.
"I remember the conversation clearly in my head," says Sara about getting the news from her agent at The Lions Brand. "He was like, 'Have you heard?' And I'm like, 'Have I heard what? … You're making me nervous!'"
After a few more tense moments on the phone, Sampaio says her agent finally relayed the amazing (and somewhat surreal) offer.
"I couldn't believe it," she remembers. "I think things didn't become real until the [official] announcement."
