Pamela Anderson is being countersued for $22.5 million by high-profile developer and rumored former flame, Laurence Hallier, for breach-of-contract – but the actress and activist is fighting back.
In 2009, Anderson sued Hallier, who owns the company which built the Panorama Towers in Las Vegas, for $1 million after he failed to give her a condominium in the luxury building, as per their contractual agreement. However, in the new countersuit, Hallier claims that the “Baywatch” babe didn’t live up to her end of the deal which was to promote the towers, and backed out of numerous publicity appearances, costing the company $22.5 million in sales. But according to Anderson’s legal representative, A. Douglas Mastroianni, Anderson is still waiting for her deserved million.
“The litigation, filed by Anderson in 2009, alleges that Hallier refused to pay the actress fees earned in promoting a Las Vegas condominium project Hallier attempted to build in his previous career as a real estate developer. The project lost financing in the 2008 real estate crash and was never built. However, Anderson’s compensation was not contingent on the completion of the project and she is still owed more than a million dollars under the terms of the contract,” Mastroianni told FOX411’s Pop Tarts in a statement. “In the countersuit, filed more than a year-and-a-half after the litigation began, Hallier now contends that Anderson herself was somehow responsible for the failure to complete the high-rise condominium project and seeks nearly $23 million in damages.”
Mastroianni also alleged that not only is Hallier’s countersuit bullocks, but so too are the widespread rumors that he and Anderson were romantically involved.
“Pamela Anderson is not any more responsible for the failure of this real estate project than she is responsible for the 2008 real estate downturn or the collapse of Lehman Brothers,” Anderson’s lawyer, A. Douglas Mastroianni, told FOX411’s Pop Tarts. “The counterclaim is an attempt at publicity, filed by a defendant who reveled in utterly false rumors that he was romantically involved with Ms. Anderson while she was promoting his failed real estate project in London, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas. The counterclaim is about as close to absurd on its face as I have ever seen and probably will ever see.”
Anderson, who was traveling to promote her Pamela Couture lingerie line, was not immediately available for comment.
