Chicana hottie and recently “engaged” singer and song writer Demo Lovato has called it quits on an international tour with Jonas Brothers to take time for herself and deal with her "emotional and physical issues," according to a statement from her representative.

The statement did not specify the 18-year-old's problems, but said Lovato checked herself into an undisclosed facility to address the concerns.

"Demi has decided to take personal responsibility for her actions and seek help," the statement said. "She is doing just that. Demi and her family ask that the media respect her privacy during this difficult time."

The Associated Press reported a person close to the situation, who spoke anonymously because of its delicacy, had said the “Camp Rock” star had entered rehab for issues including self-mutilation and an eating disorder. The source later clarified to AP that those were problems Lovato had dealt with in the past. No word on whether the stress of touring with ex-boyfriend Joe Jonas played any part in the situation.

Joe Jonas and Lovato claimed to have maintained a great friendship post break-up.
Her rep said Lovato regretted not finishing the tour but "is looking forward to getting back to work in the near future."

Since the release of the statement, the singer’s website has been showered with fan mail leaving comments such as “get well soon,” and “we miss you.”
