NeNe Leakes is fired up.

“I feel like over the seasons, they have brought a lot of girls on the show that are willing to do anything to be in the limelight. I just don’t think it’s a good look for the show.”

As the original cast member of Bravo’s “Real Housewives of Atlanta” franchise, Leakes is not particularly thrilled with how this season played out, and even contemplates whether she'll be returning for season eight. “I don’t know if I’ll be back or not,” she admits.

Fans shouldn’t cry just yet: Leakes offers a solution that may change her mind. “I would love to be here with the 'Housewives,' but I cannot be a part of it being as negative as it has been. It has to change,” she said. “I don’t think the show can survive the fighting and negativity. [It's] to the point where we just can’t be in the same room, and people are rolling their eyes at you and being nasty because you’re successful. That’s just so negative.”

But for the moment, Leakes isn’t worried about the drama, as she’s busy working on two upcoming projects.

For starters, Leakes will be starring in a new reality show with Kim Zolciak — her former "RHOA" castmember from seasons 1-5, who once shared an infamous and tense fight on the tour bus with Leakes.

“Over the years we both have grown," explains Leakes. "Hopefully we've grown for the better and not for the worse.”

Leakes is also excited about how fresh and different the show will be for audiences. “Kim and I are doing a 'Thelma and Louise' type of roads-to-riches show, and we'll go out around the world and spend weeks on the road."

"I’m sure we'll get irritated with each other here and there,” Leakes adds, giggling. “Kim and I haven’t been around each in a really long time. This will be something new for us.”

And even though Leakes’ lips are technically sealed, she did share some big news that will be out in a couple of weeks: “Kim Kardashian and I have teamed up to do something really cool!”

So what could these two possibly have up their sleeves? Leakes won’t spill the beans, but she tells us she's going to take the opportunity to learn some special techniques from Kardashian, the selfie queen. “Kim has perfected taking selfies … I don’t know how to angle the camera!” she admits. “Kim can teach me, because she definitely wins in that area. [But] when it comes to reality [TV], Kim and I have it on lock: She has the white girl reality on lock and I have the black girl reality on lock,” Leakes laughs.

From the looks of it, everything is going great for Leakes: This weekend, she's planning to enjoy a good fight night with hubby Greg (they're rooting for Floyd Mayweather in "The Fight of the Century"); she's returning to HSN in July to sell her NeNe Leakes collection; and down the road, she'll “potentially” start a wig line.

So what can we expect to see next Sunday on part two of Bravo's "RHOA" reunion? Well, for starters, Leakes would like to set the record straight with fellow cast member Kenya Moore, who accuses her of flirting with Cynthia Bailey’s husband. “I never flirted with Peter," says Leakes. "Peter, Cynthia, Greg and I were all friends and we traveled. We doubled dated, and Peter’s not my type. I would never flirt with Peter because I liked Cynthia. I don’t flirt with my friends' husbands or boyfriends.”

As Leakes went on to add, “It’s very interesting that Kenya accuses me of flirting with Peter and not Cynthia. Cynthia is married to Peter, and she’s not saying a word.” (Fans may note the irony in the situation, considering Kenya didn’t like being accused of flirting/sleeping with Phaedra Park’s husband, Apollo Nida, last season.)

In any event, "RHOA" continues to grow more fascinating with each episode. Only time will tell if we can still expect Leakes to be holding her peach during the opening credits of season eight, but until then, she leaves fans with a glimmer of hope.

“If they recast the show and bring on girls with real lives and real husbands, then maybe I can be a part of it, because I want to see the show win.”
