Snooki and JWOWW take over Mexico? Sort of.

MTV Latin America is developing a Mexican version of its hit reality show “Jersey Shore” and its viral series “Ridiculousness,” the Hollywood Reporter reported.

The publication said the network has ordered 13 episodes for both shows, which will premiere in Latin America in September.

“Mexico Shore,” which is a working title according to the Hollywood Reporter, will be MTV’s third international version of the show that made Snooki, JWOWW, The Situation and others from the original series globally famous. The actual location in Mexico has not yet been determined.

The U.K. version, called “Geordie Shore,” set primarily in Newcastle, England drew exceptionally strong ratings during its seven-season run.

In Spain, the first season of MTV’s Spanish-language “Gandia Shore,” based in Gandia, Spain, produced nearly a million viewers in October 2012. A second season is in the works, while the first season will debut in Latin America in March.

For “Ridiculousness Mexico,” Sofia Ioannon, managing director of Viacom International Media Networks for the Americas, said it’s about finding a witty host with a good comedic timing and a fresh perspective, as viral videos “are a dime a dozen.”

MTV’s “Ridiculousness” shows various viral videos from the Internet with commentary by host Rob Dyrdek, similar to the Bob Saget-era of “America’s Funniest Home Videos.”

Casting for both new Latin America shows will begin soon.
