Filmmaker goes on 'The Kelly File' to talk 2016 politics
Michael Moore is making headlines lately.
The filmmaker will perform a one-man show about the presidential race in Wilmington, Ohio, after he says he was banned a theater in another Ohio town because officials deemed him to be too controversial.
He said on Wednesday morning that the Murphy Theater is welcoming him to perform.
The documentary maker wrote on Facebook that he is grateful for the chance to take the stage.
“…Let me offer my thanks to the people at the Murphy Theatre in Wilmington who, unlike the town of Newark, OH, up in Licking County, not only didn't bar me from renting their beautiful facility, they wanted it known that they believe in free speech.”
The Columbus Dispatch reports that Newark’s Midland Theater operators say Moore wasn't banned and that the decision not to finalize the contract was based on several factors. Those included a too-short time frame and questions about what the production involved.
Moore’s back-and-forth with the theater comes on the heels of his news-making declaration that Donald Trump won the first presidential debate.
Moore sent out a series of frustrated tweets during the debate.
