Mike Nelson is a man who has made his living out of talking during a movie. He starred in and co-wrote the cult television program ‘Mystery Science Theater 3000’ (MST3K). Along with Kevin Murphy and Bill Corbett, the voices of his MST3K robotic cohorts, Nelson also created RiffTrax, a website where fans can stream and download movies with similarly hilarious commentaries.
“We just finished up the ‘Twilight’ series and those are perfect because they’re deathly serious and corny lines,” Nelson told FOX411. “But then it also has the pace that allows us to make our comments in between them. They say a line and then Edward stares at Bella for a good 20 seconds. So it’s like they’re kind of inviting us to make the joke in between those two pauses.”
Nelson said good a RiffTrax film has, “to take itself pretty seriously, not that ‘Super Mario Bros.’ did, but it was just such a disaster that it worked for us. We can pretty much do anything except obviously topics that are out of bounds and things like that. But we find that it works well with a wide variety of movies.”

So what’s the perfect, so bad its good, RiffTrax movie?
“‘Super Mario Bros.,’ which was so loud and painful, but it turned out to be very funny,” he said. “But for the writers, it was like we were ready to throw a rope over a beam on that one.”
