In an exclusive interview with The Guardian, pop singer and former Spice Girls member Melanie Brown made some pretty surprising revelations about her sex life, her career and some of her past scandals.

Better known as Mel B., or Scary Spice, the star is currently making waves as one of the most talked-about judges on "The X Factor" in the U.K., even overshadowing the returning judge Simon Cowell. With her sharp tongue, quick wit and bluntness, she's become a fan favorite.

She was no less blunt with Guardian reporter Simon Hattenstone during their interview. Here are some of the surprising highlights from their expansive conversation.

She had a four-year relationship with a woman: "People call me lesbian, bisexual or heterosexual, but I know who's in my bed and that's it," she said. "I have a huge libido and a great sex life… I did have a four-year relationship with a woman. But I've been very happily married for seven years to a penis."

She has a wild sex lifeShe said that she has an important rule in her house when it comes to her sex life with her husband, Stephen Belafonte.

"Well, there's a rule in our house: you don't just walk into the bedroom, you knock on the door first, out of respect. My mum and dad taught me that."

She and Eddie Murphy get along now- When Brown revealed she was pregnant with her middle child Angel in 2006, she also revealed that the father was actor Eddie Murphy. Murphy publicly declared that he would only believe he was the biological father if a paternity test was taken. Eventually, it was, and Murphy turned out to be the father.

According to Brown, she was most hurt by the backlash she received from the media. "I got called a gold-digger. People said I'd planned it," she recalled.

She also revealed that her relationship with Murphy has actually grown stronger in recent years. "We go over there as a family, we have dinners together, everything is fine… now. He's a great guy. Look, we fell in love with each other, we had a gorgeous child together. Some of my friends don't even see their exes and they've got kids together."

She is her own biggest fan- In the interview, Brown revealed that she might be her own biggest fan, even going so far as to dress up as her former alter ego, Scary Spice, for Halloween. But she says that her ego is more about love than pride.

"Yes, I do have a big ego… and I am in love with myself… Because if you don't love yourself how can anybody love you back?"

Spice Girls fights got physical! According to Brown, all the Spice Girls had disagreements, but sometimes they would actually get physical.

"Me and Mel C. [Melanie Chisholm, a.k.a. Sporty Spice] had a few punch-ups… [which would lead to] maybe a split lip, that's all," she revealed. "Me and Melanie would irritate each other. It would always start off with a shove, not a punch."

Spice Girls were just misfits- Despite the fact that the Spice Girls were beloved by young girls Brown insists that the girls all got along because they were boring, ordinary misfits.

"All of us individually went through such rejection, whether it be from auditions or being bullied or not fitting in at school, so we were all kind of misfits that came together and the puzzle fitted," she said. "When we walked into a room, apart from people not knowing what to expect, we were just unbreakable. That bond was so tight for so many years."

Who is she still close with? - "They are all in my phone… Well, I just saw Emma [Bunton – a.k.a. Baby Spice] recently. I went to Mexico with her," she said. "Then I was talking to Mel C. the other day. I guess I am least close to Victoria [Beckham – a.k.a. Posh Spice], because she has a whole empire to run and that girl is bu-u-usy."
