Mariah Carey sent fans into a frenzy Saturday morning when she announced her much-anticipated return to the music scene.

The award-winning singer — who’s reportedly in talks to become a judge on American Idol – took to Twitter to trumpet the release of a brand-new single.

What’s the name of the tune?

Carey revealed the title in her post, saying: “So I can finally announce to you that my new single is coming out in early August! It’s called TRIUMPHANT (Get ‘Em) ft. Rick Ross & Meek Mill.”

She later tweeted: “I wrote TRIUMPHANT when I was going through a difficult time & it helped me get through it. When u hear it, pay attention 2 the lyrics. #WIN”

Expectations are already running high for the single: it was written and produced by the singer and her longtime collaborators, Jermaine Dupri and Brian Michael Cox, a.k.a. the masterminds behind Carey’s hits “Shake It Off” and “Don’t Forget About Us.”

“Triumphant” is expected to be the first single from Carey’s upcoming CD, her first mainstream offering since 2009′s Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel.  She released the holiday-themed Merry Christmas II You in 2010.

And, according to Showbiz411‘s Roger Friedman, she’ll be promoting the song — and its subsequent album — when she joins her pal (and manager) Randy Jackson on American Idol.

“Randy is bringing Mariah to Idol to join him as a judge,” Friedman says. “It’s the perfect situation. They can finish their album, and Mariah can settle in for a couple of years, hopefully as her twins are in their formative years. Idol will keep her close to home. Plus, when said album is released, it will give her an automatic platform from which to launch and promote it.”

Carey and her husband, Nick Cannon, welcomed their first children — a set of twins — in April 2011.
