Marc Anthony Set To Release Third Album In English

Although his latest Spanish-language album, "3.0," is a major hit and his single "Vivir mi vida" topped the charts for 18 weeks, salsa crooner Marc Anthony is not satisfied. He wants to reconquer a broader market with a new project in English.

Anthony announced at the 25th Billboard Latin Music Conference in Miami on Wednesday that he is working on a pop album. The conference culminates with its award show Thursday. Anthony is nominated in 15 categories.

Anthony says he doesn't have a release date or a record label yet. Sony Music Latin has the exclusive rights only to his Spanish-language music.

The "Nuyorican" salsa singer has produced two albums in English, but much of his fame and success has come from his Spanish-language songs.

While planning his album, the 45-year-old also recently met with Dominican President Danilo Medina to discuss the new orphanage his foundation Maestro Cares built in La Romana, a city in the eastern part of the Caribbean country.

“We talked about the orphanage and how he (Medina) can contribute, help out,” the singer told reporters as he left the president’s office. “He left us an open path of communication. In his words, ‘whatever you need, I am at your service. We are ready to contribute, help out.”
