A California man was so infatuated with veteran hip-hop radio personality Angie Martinez that he bought a plane ticket to New York with the sole purpose of stalking her, police said.

Police arrested Emanuelito Torres-Delgado of Sacramento, California, and charged him with stalking. He allegedly showed up several times at the Manhattan studio where Martinez works, Power 105.1 FM, to try and see her, the NY Daily News reported.

The 52-year-old Torres-Delgado had been repeatedly attempting to reach out to Martinez on various social media platforms and would send her bizarre messages. From an account he reportedly managed, Torres-Delgado also tweeted to other celebrities, including veteran TV producer Norman Lear and Pope Francis.

Torres-Delgado also tweeted a photo of an erotic DVD and sex toys to Martinez, celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain, “Spider-Man” creator Stan Lee and the Dalai Lama.

Earlier this month, Torres-Delgado tweeted a screenshot of a JetBlue flight confirmation from Sacramento to JFK. He reportedly captioned it: “Angie come get me boo.”

According to police, Torres-Delgado began messaging Martinez more than a year ago and frequently referred to her as his “wife.” A complaint against the California man was made to police on Sept. 5 in New York.

Three days later, Torres-Delgado showed up at the Power 105.1 headquarters in Tribeca and was asked to leave. However, he returned 20 minutes later demanding to see Martinez, the Daily News reported.

According to police, he was escorted out by security.

The Daily News reported that Torres-Delgado posted a document on his Facebook account requesting information from the City of New York about his July 4, 1975 “marriage” to Martinez, 44.

“ANGELA MARTINEZ COME TALK TO OFFICER FAHY he knows I love you I put my rings back on in front of him. I took them off after feeling an insult we are still married,” he posted on Facebook on Sept. 6.

According to the Daily News, Torres-Delgado was arraigned Saturday on misdemeanor charges of stalking, trespassing and harassment. He is being held in lieu of $5,000 bail.

Martinez has not commented on the incident.
