Selena Gomez used the Thanksgiving weekend to share a side-by-side snapshot with her mom.
On the left side of the collage was a throwback image of her mother, Mandy Teefey, who had Gomez at age 16. She is wearing a red lacy top and is posed with back arched and arms bent with hands on her head, seductively gazing at the camera.
The pop star is next to her striking a similar pose and wearing a skin-tight bodysuit.
“Werk momma #igetitfrommymomma,” the 22-year-old captioned the photo on Instagram.
The “Come and Get It” singer has said that she was inspired to join show business because her mom was a stage actress in Texas, but was mostly motivated by her mom’s struggle to give her a better life.
“My mom gave up everything for me, had three jobs, supported me, sacrificed her life for me,” she said in a E! Entertainment special that aired in June. “I remember my mom would run out of gas all the time and we’d sit there and have to go through the car and get quarters and help her get gas because she never liked to ask my grandparents for money.”
