NEW YORK -- Lady Gaga has ended her deal to sell an exclusive version of her new album, "Born This Way," at big-box retailer Target over its controversial political donations, the New York Post reported Wednesday, citing national gay and lesbian magazine The Advocate.

Target came under fire after it was reported that it donated funds to several anti-gay politicians and organizations.

Gaga had agreed to work with Target but explained to Billboard magazine last month: "Part of my deal with Target is that they have to start affiliating themselves with LGBT [lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender] charity groups and begin to reform and make amends for the mistakes they've made in the past."

A rep for Gaga said: "Lady Gaga and Target came to a mutual decision to end their overall exclusive partnership."

Target did not respond to the Post.
