Kate Mara: My dad hates my short hair

Hair is a touchy subject for Kate Mara.

After a journalist dissed her for chopping off her locks for a new movie, her father, New York Giants executive Timothy Christopher Mara, delivered yet another jab via text message.

“I text messaged my dad the other day saying ‘I miss you’ and his response was ‘I miss your hair,’” Mara, 32, told Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan on Tuesday. “So thanks, Dad!”

Beyond the two negative comments about her stylish pixie cut, Mara says she’s loving how low-maintenance it is.

“I don’t have to wash it now,” she said cheerfully. “I don’t have to brush it. I love it.”

As previously mentioned, an uncouth journalist slammed the star for cutting her hair.

“They asked me to,” Mara replied to the awkward comment. “I’m an actress. I have to be a chameleon.”
