John Stamos is opening up about his recent rehab stint.

The 52-year-old actor checked into rehab in July for substance abuse a few weeks after getting arrested in Beverly Hills on suspicion of DUI. Stamos, who has since returned to work on his new Fox comedy "Grandfathered" and Netflix's "Full House" revival, got candid with Details about the last couple of months.

“I’ve had a rough year with my mom dying, so it all came to a head, and it was a turning point,” Stamos told the magazine for its October issue.

“You either continue on that path – and some of it’s fun, but a lot of it’s not – or there’s this other thing, this golden opportunity sitting there with all this work and all this goodwill that you have going for you,” he said.

“That’s the key. I feel better than I’ve felt in a decade,” Stamos added.

It’s the first time Stamos has really addressed his month-long stay in rehab. He announced his return on Twitter in late July after completing treatment, tweeting at the time, “I’m back! Took a month to take care of things. Healthy. Feeling grateful for the love & support of family & friends.”

“I love him. We love him,” she told ET. “And if this is what he needs, to spend time to get things together, we’re all supportive and glad he’s there and know that things will be good when he comes back. I support him, and we’ll support him.”
