It was all about Ms. Lopez at the American Music Awards Sunday night.

JLO dethroned Spanish heartthrob Enrique Iglesias when winning the AMA for best "Latin Artist of theYear," an award which Iglesias had won five years in a row. Ironically the first artist to ever win that award in American Music Award history was his father Julio Iglesias.

Iglesias, who has a steamy new single out with Lopez called "Mouth to Mouth," gave the diva a big hug and kiss as she came on stage to accept her award.

“I didn’t expect to win,” Lopez said with her voice cracking. “It’s been an amazing year…up and down and just exciting and overwhelming and so many things."

Lopez then thanked her “family and babies” for inspiring her and making her “a better person.” She also thanked her manager Benny Medina, whom she called her “creative partner” as well as producer RedOne. Then she thanked her Latino fans.

“Mi gente latina!” Lopez yelled with her award high in the air. “Por todo… I love you gracias.”

La Lopez as she is called also proved why she is a fashion icon. The "I'm Into You" singer dazzled in a nude, shear-like train dress highlighting her curves and flawless skin.

This isn't the first time Lopez takes award ceremonies to enlighten folks on her chic sense of style.

Just last week JLO left jaws hanging when sporting a white, slit-high gown at the Glamour magazine awards, where she was honored as woman of the year.

The international pop star changed multiple times on stage, where she showed off her smooth dancing skills, slim figure and, of course, promoted a Fiat-- her new big endorsement deal.

Lopez began her performance wearing an elegant off-white gown. As she sang her latest single "Until it Beats No More," her voice cracked, (just recently she cried on stage while singing that song,) but then she looked up at the audience and smirked as back up dancers pulled off  her evening dress.

Rocking a gold shimmery dress, Lopez transitioned into her song "Papi," where she recreated parts of the music video and brought out the sports car.

Lopez then stripped again to her last costume-- a glittery skin tight suit (reminiscent of the one Britney Spears made popular for her "Toxic" music video") as she and Pitbull did a bump and grind to "On the Floor," her comeback single earlier this year.

Black Eyed Peas lead singer Will.I.Am debuted his latest single “T.H.E” (The Hardest Ever) featuring Jennifer Lopez and Mick Jagger. The performance was done in flurocent black light and dancers wowed the crowd. David Guetta took to enhancing the show DJing as well.

During the American Music Awards after party, hosted by JLO, she told FOX News how winning the best "Latin Artist” of the year award made her feel “really great.”

“I was very pleasantly surprised,” said Lopez.

“We took the three singles and pieced them together to just make a great performance,” Lopez continued. “We wanted to change with each one which is always ambitious, but we made it work somehow."
