In the FOXlight: The Cast of Netflix's 'Stranger Things' on Filming the Show's Scarier Scenes

If you haven't caught up on "Stranger Things" yet, you're missing out on one of the best sci-fi series on TV. You're also probably living under a rock somewhere, because how else have you not seen this show?!?

Netflix's latest hit series is a throwback to the beloved horror/sci-fi/adventure films of the '80s, making it just as familiar and comfortable as it is eerie and spine-tingling. It also boasts a great cast of child actors, including Noah Schapp, Gaten Matarazzo and Caleb McLaughlin, all three of whom recently stepped into the FOXlight to tell Michael Tammero about being part of the summer's hottest series.

"It feels great," says Matarazzo, who plays Dustin. "Unexpected, definitely. I mean, when they first started writing the show, it was only supposed to be this miniseries, I didn't really think it was gonna be much of a big deal."

Fortunately for everyone involved, "Stranger Things" was a huge deal. In fact, the show was already renewed for a second season of thrills, chills, and otherworldly scares — and that's not even mentioning the scares that happen on-set.

"There was this one time when we were filming this scene where I'm running back into the shed before I disappear into the nether," says Noah Schapp, who plays Will. "I pick up the phone, and it was the first time I heard the monster's roar/creepy sound. And there's these big speakers, like huge speakers, like right next to me, but I didn't see them. So I picked up the phone and they played the sound, and I was like 'What!' It scared the hell out of me!"

Watch the rest of Tammero's interview with Schapp, Matarazzo and McLaughlin above, then crawl out from under your rock and go catch up on "Stranger Things." (Seriously, how have you not seen this show?!)
