This weekend, 100% of the donations made to the Stephen Siller Tunnel To Towers Foundation will benefit the family of NYPD Detective and Air National Guardsman Joseph Lemm.
Sgt. Lemm, or ‘superman’ as his friends called him, was killed during his third tour of duty in the Middle East since 9/11 when a suicide bomber crashed into his patrol in Afghanistan. Living up to his nickname, Sgt. Lemm paid the ultimate price in being a hero. He earned a Bronze Star for using his body to shield his fellow soldiers from the deadly blast.
Thousands lined the streets of New York City to honor the fallen soldier at his funeral in December, including Mayor Bill de Blasio.
