Golden Globes Presenters Include Antonio Banderas & Salma Hayek

Antonio Banderas and Salma Hayek will be presenting at this year’s Golden Globe awards, Hollywoodscoop.com is reporting

The annual ceremony is scheduled to take place on Sunday, Jan. 15, 2012.

Joing Hayek and Banderas, who both star in “Puss in Boots,” will be joined by other screen acting superstars such as Nicole Kidman, Freida Pinto from “Slumdog Millionaire” and Melissa McCarthy who stars in “Bridesmaids,” which has been nominated for best comedy of the year.

Banderas and Hayek’s “Puss in Boots” have been nominated for “Best Animated feature Film,” while Baderas’ “The Skin I Live In” directed by Pedro Almodóvar is up for “Best Foreign Language Film.”

Colombian actress Sofía Vergara has been nominated for “Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role, Mini-Series, or Motion Picture Made for Television,” and her show “Modern Family” is up for “Best Television Series- Comedy or Musical.”

The President of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, Dr. Aida Takla-O’Reilly told Hollywood Scoop that they are “thrilled to have these talented individuals,” [Banderas and Hayek] be a part of the 69th annual Golden Globes ceremony.

“Each will bring something very special to this year’s show!” she added.

Argentine actress Bérénice Bejo was also nominated for the silent-era tale "The Artist" heading in the Golden Globes with six nominations, among them best comedy or musical, and acting honors for Jean Dujardin and Bejo.

Tied for second-place with five nominations Thursday are the 1960s racial tale "The Help" and George Clooney's Hawaiian family story "The Descendants."

Both films are up for best drama, while Clooney was nominated for best dramatic actor and "The Help" earned acting slots for Viola Davis, Octavia Spencer and Jessica Chastain.

"We've all been striking out trying to make our dreams come true, and the fact that our very first studio film is being so well received and embraced is humbling and exciting," said supporting-actress nominee Spencer, an awards-season newcomer and longtime friend of Tate Taylor, the first-time director of "The Help."

Taylor's film is based on his childhood pal Kathryn Stockett's best-seller.
