Lady Gaga’s latest CD 'Born This Way' was the big story in this week's music news.
Her little monsters helped push 'Born This Way' into the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart, gobbling up over 1 million copies in its first week.
According to Billboard, that marks the largest sales week for any album since 2005.
Other big new music releases include two big names going solo. Eddie Vedder debuted “Ukulele Songs” while Jordan Knight of New Kids on the Block brought out his solo CD, “Unfinished,” double tasking while on the road with the “Kids” and The Backstreet Boys for the summer for the “NKOTBSB” tour.
Speaking of new kids on the block, Michael Jackson’s nephew Austin Brown threw his hat into his musical family's ring ring with his debut album, “85.”
Lead singer Rob halford said it took them “40 years of hard work” to get the loyal fans they now have in the world of heavy metal. Halford told FOX411 that although Durbin didn’t take the "American Idol" title, he will be just fine. "Maybe it's kind of bittersweet that James didn't get all the way because it kind of makes him even more real for us in metal," Halford said. "Because it has always been a battle for us in heavy metal in the big umbrella of rock and roll. But we're excited for James, he's got a long life ahead of him”.
