Eva Mendes says women shouldn’t wear sweatpants — unless they want their relationships to end.

“You can’t do sweatpants. … No, ladies, number one cause of divorce in America, sweatpants, no!” the 41-year-old told “Extra.”

The stunning actress and new mom dished out the style advice after being asked if she wears comfortable pants around the house. She repeatedly said “no” before explaining that sweats can actually cause a couple to break up.

Mendes and boyfriend Ryan Gosling, 34, welcomed their first child, Esmeralda Amada, in September, and Mendes is back to showing off her famous curves (in fashions other than sweats, of course).

Gosling later defended Mendes, saying the sweatpants comment was a joke.

Mendes apologized herself on Instagram saying she was "just kidding."

In the April issue of Women’s Health magazine, Mendes wears a figure-hugging white frock and talks about her exercise routine and diet.

“I haven’t eaten meat in about six years, because I don’t agree with factory farming here,” she said. “This is just what worked for me, it’s important to say, but when I cut that out I immediately felt better. And also, after a year of eliminating it, my skin looked brighter and healthier overall.”

For exercise, she lifts light weights, practices yoga and goes on hikes.

Motherhood has also made Mendes appreciate her own mom more, she told “Extra.”

“Now I understand so much, my mother’s never gotten more ‘I love you so much, Mommy’ texts, I mean, randomly. … Ya, I get it now,” she said of life with a 6-month-old.
